Deep Thoughts by Braden and Camiron

eating dinner with a guest....
Braden: "mom, I love you. And I love your boobs".
Me: umm- i really had no response for that.

Braden: "My stomach is grumbling. I think because it didn't have enough snacks. My tummy likes it better when i eat more snacks than food. Like snacks are better for it then like chicken nuggets or apples because those make me have to poo poo."

Braden: "What did you do to your arm daddy?"
Troy: "I gave blood at work today. they put a needle in my arm so I could give blood to someone who needs it"
Braden: "Thats a real bad day at work when you get a needle in your arm"

Braden: "suck, suck, suck, suck."
Mom: "BRADEN! We don't say that! Do you even know what that means?"
Braden: "yea, it means Daddy forgot something."

Camiron: "Gen gen" (again again) Camirons response to anything she likes.

Camiron: "Mommy the elephant take a baff. (bath).
Mom: "i know the elephant took a bath at the zoo didn't he!"
Camiron: "Elephant took a baff."
.. Camiron then procedes to repeat this phrase over and over for the next 30 min.
... and again every day for the next week.

followed with the phrases
"Watch Barney snowman show"
"Noooo turn on jingle bells" "now"
"I can't" - which is a response to anything you may ask her to do- say sorry, bring that over here etc.

-A few weeks ago we played "the grinch is coming"
We would say "ssshhhhh- Grinch is coming" and then hide and be really quiet.

In church now:
Mom: "Camiron- ssshhh it's time to be quiet."
Camiron: "SShhhh mommy, grinch is coming".
Mom: "camiron he isn't coming to church, we need to be quiet"
Camiron: "ssshhh mommy, Grinch is coming. Ssshhh"

I'm So Glad When Daddy Comes Home

Why is it that dad is always by far the "cooler" parent? He can stride in at night and the kids adore everything he does! Makes a mom jealous, but also so grateful that I have a husband who is such an amazing dad.
Troy had a week off between Christmas and New Years (although he did have to work a 30 hour shift the day after Christmas- a whole week off is really asking too much!) We had a great time.

The all awaited for trip to the zoo. We caught the 3 new baby tigers playing with each other- now that was a hit.

We finally got around to making those gingerbread houses. They don't last long here with the humidity... so we kept them a few days and then the suddenly "disappeared". But we had a great time making them on a rainy day.

This year we finally got a few little fireworks for New Years. Growing up I remember banging some pots and pans, maybe even outside if we were feeling crazy. But here, Hawaiians keep the firework industry financially sound by spending thousands of dollars on an all night show of fireworks. (actually more like a week long show, but setting them off nonstop from 5pm on). New Years is their favorite holiday and there are illegal fireworks galore. I wish we could say we love it too- but come midnight when everyone is setting off those 12 big ariel illegal boomer fireworks, we are watching from the window and praying really really hard that the kids won't wake up. If New Years is your thing- You really should experience one hawaiian new years. Us we would kind of like to be sleeping :)

Of course there was yard work to be done. It is only this fun if Daddy is out there digging up things. The kids thought this was the best chore ever and very willing to be "helpful"

Santa's here

It is fun to have Braden really get the whole "Santa" thing this year. He has been very specific in needing a side loader garbage truck and thankfully Santa came through. When Braden looked over the railing and saw the presents his response was "wow, lots. Thats cool". Who is he! But they had a great time opening them- and check Camiron and her peacock hairdo. She was not about to let us fix it for her. Such a crackup.
Somehow I missed taking pictures of the missionaries who came and used our phone to call home.... and stayed... and stayed. They were there from 10:30am - 4. Wow long day.
They finally left and we headed to our friends Amy and Justins for dinner. We had a great Christmas dinner and the kids played like crazy. What a fun Christmas!
