hippity hoppity easter

this is our first easter in utah since we have been married. the koch family had a huge easter get together- and it was so much fun to actually be with family for a holiday! the best thing about the koch's is everyone calls each other koch- so at any time you could say koch and a million people will turn. who needs names!!

what easter is complete with a ridiculous attempt at a kids picture..... here is my attempt for this year. it went about as well as last year.

we thought it would be fun to go to a neighborhood easter egg hunt. blink and you might miss it. from go- it was over in 3 min flat! they wouldn't let parents help because the eggs were just thrown on the grass, but braden wasn't a fan of going on his own. so he stayed pretty close to the edge and camiron wasn't even going to try.

it may have ended fast, but at least we ended up with a couple of cute pictures of the family.

a day on the farm

why did i not spend more time at wheeler farm as a kid? this is such a great place. it is free to go check out all of the animals, play in the tree house, and get a little dirty. you can splurge ($1.50) to go on the hay ride around the woods and farm. This is my new favorite utah spot. and we had a fabulous time meeting up with some old friends to spend a day at the farm.

girls just want to have fun

I had a great week last week with the ladies of SLC! It was so nice to be kid free and enjoy a dinner out with all the bros wives. It is pretty funny to hear stories of our kids- knowing that all of our husbands are big kids. Scary to think what the next generation of Bros has in store for us! I loved catching up with the ladies- and being enlightened on a few female topics! :) I know you girls will get a good laugh on that one :)

This was followed up by a "Slumber Party" with my high school friends. We kicked off the night with a little Chinese dinner, followed up with pedicures, some guitar hero, makeup tips, hair tips, a classic chick flick, no sleep, great breakfast, and girl talk. I loved every minute of it and am so grateful to have friends like this in my life. No matter how far away we might live from one another, it is a friendship that will last a lifetime! (and much thanks to my parents- and all the husbands who made this possible)

Lara missed our pedicures- but was back in style for guitar hero- and serious about it!

I don't even know what to say about this one!

me and the kids

It isn't often that i am in the pictures with the kids. Since I am usually capturing the shots- it has been fun to be around my parents and get the pics that they take of the kids! So here are a few of me and the kiddos....

With Easter on the way, it was of course time to dye some Easter eggs. Last year every egg was broken after Braden attempted to dye it- this year he was a busy scientist and only one egg got broken (which i unfortunately had a part in! woops) He didn't want to stop dying them and the only way to get him to give up the dye was to promise some stickers to put them. I can't believe he is such a big kid already!

More Sisters!

Two more of my mom's sisters- Geri and Donna- came into town to celebrate my mom's birthday and hang out with my kiddos. My mom does all her best shopping with her sisters since they encourage her to buy buy buy... so the three of them spent a lot of time on the go. It was so great to see them. Living away means that if I am here... they are not. So i haven't seen geri and donna since I got married almost 7 years ago! time flies. It was fabulous to see them.

While they were here we went to the discovery museum at Gateway. any fellow blogger friends who live in utah- or come through here on occasion- it was awesome! Braden was so hyper and excited that i thought he might hyperventilate. He couldn't even focus on me when i would try to talk to him, he was just too busy with everything. If we lived here- we would have a pass for sure. The construction site and water feature were the biggest hit for him. Camiron loved all the little cars you can get in and drive around. Fun!

Does it get any better than this!

My dad bought Braden a mini set of snowshoes hoping that he would be able to tromp around in them a little. Braden loved it! He was off and running immediately! We couldn't believe how well he did, and how much fun he had. On our way up the canyon, we saw a moose off the side of the road and had to check it out. Just beautiful!

I wish we could claim this snowman- but it was already here for us!

Snowshoeing is not really Camiron's thing. I think she was a little miserable in the bjorn, but she coped and checked out all the snow. She is such a trooper.

After a good nap from the snowshoeing.. we thought why not make a day of it- and met up with Megs and Spenny at Wheeler Farm. It was a little chilly, but the kids had a great time and there is a surprising amount of animals to check out there.
