a fabulous visitor

It is always so much fun when Grandma Pam comes to visit.  Since she was coming right before
Christmas we thought we would fit in as many holiday adventures as possible.
We kicked it off with finding a live Christmas tree.  We never had a live tree in Hawaii
they are so dang expensive there- and die because of the heat.... so we thought we would spend the money for this fun adventure- and fun it was!

the lot we went to you could cut one down yourself or get a precut.  we thought about cutting one-
but they were kind of like tall bushes.  here are the kids measuring one to cut- and we sad
when we decided to go for a precut.  But they had sooo much fun playing hide and seek in the uncut forest.

we had a great time decorating the tree- and Grandma Pam brought them each an
ornament.  Loved it.  they took the decorating very seriously.

There was lots and lots of cooking while she was here-
sugar cookies, candy trains, homemade rolls.... She is such
a great sport about it.

B has been asking for a "suit" for church for a long time.  I just hadn't found one for a little
guy- so when i spotted this, i had to get it.  And it was perfect timing-  while Pam was here Troy was called into the Bishopric and Braden was excited to wear his new suit for the occasion.
(for those who don't go to our church- this means he is asked to be one of 3 leaders over our congregation- like a pastor)  This is a big job to be asked to do after only being here for 3 months.  He feels little overwhelmed trying to figure out who everyone is in the congregation- and he spends a lot of time driving back and forth to our church since it is 40 min away.  But we are grateful to serve- and maybe the extra church time will equate into a super easy baby right?  Sitting solo in church 8 months pregnant hasn't been too fun so far :)

We also had to make gingerbread houses (of course)
This is always a favorite

We love and miss you Grandma Pam.  Thanks for coming to visit our new digs.

Way to hide your belly in the one picture you're actually in. Can I request a picture of the very pregnant Molly? Please? Why do girls always insist on seeing each other pregnant? Maybe it's the equivalent of guys seeing each other naked? Okay, this comment is getting weird.

I'm not sure "Congratulations" is the right thing to say but I'm really not surprised Troy has been called to the bishopric. You are both wonderful people. Molly, good luck with the solo Sunday thing. Is there anyone you can sit by that can help with the kiddos?
