Troy's buddy Jeff Metcalf came for a little "work" trip in Hawaii.... Yea- he and Troy worked hard on the golf course! They had a great time together golfing a military course, Turtle bay, and at Pearl Harbor... We were happy to Jeffs job decided that he needed to see us :)

you can walk a lizard
We all remember the foam lizards that you can get at the fair... so we found one for Braden since he LOVES the lizards around here. We have to go hunting for them in our yard at least 10 times a day... so here are a few funny pictures and some video of him with the real... the fake... and the tortured!
Matt and Jeanette
We were really happy that Matt and Jeanette made us a stop during their family reunion! We had a great time going to the beach, laughing and catching up on the SLC "scoop"... It was fun to see Troy back to his giddy college days laughing with Matt. Braden was heart broken when they left and must have asked for Matt and Nette a billion times. We all miss them already and can't wait for a return trip.
it rained the day they left, but Braden was determined to go to the beach. He is ready for a little snorkling in the rain.
Since we didn't end up at the beach, he decided to camp out in front of the tv in my neatly folded clothes.
Troy and Braden are on the yellow board, Matt is on the blue board
NOBODY in Hawaii looks this good in a swimsuit!
Poor Jeannette spent a lot of time getting burried in the sand by Braden... he had a little crush I think!

Camirons big week... and why do we bother!
Camiron had a big week this week so I thought I would share all of her "big" accomplishments! She started rolling from her front to back, and back to front.... scooching- but she leaves her hands behind and seems to end up upset and with a little rugburn to the face! She has started laughing- but only at Braden. Apparantly he is the only comedian in the house. The more up in her face he is, the funnier he seems to be. Since he is all over her all the time, we get a few good laughs a day. And finally, Camiron had her first swim in the pool today. Even with Braden splashing in face, she still thought it was great! Big week for my little girl who just turned 5 months!
And I would also like to voice a few thoughts to those out there who know what I am talking about. Today I was thinking, why do we bother? Why do I put clothes on my kids? By 11:30 am Camiron had pooped on her first outfit, puked enough to get changed to a second outfit, swam in her third and is now in her fourth! Braden spilled icecream on his first outfit, got his second one wet with the hose, and is now in his third! Why do I not just leave them in diapers?
Why do I try to clean my house? For every item I put away, Braden follows about 2 steps behind me. So I put one item away, which is suddenly to coolest thing he has ever seen, so he pulls it back out, along with everything near it that may seem of interest. I mopped the floor, only to have him run across it at least 6 times from swimming pool to whatever item he may need, a cup, toy or snack.... so my clean floor lasted maybe 20 min, and is dirty before anyone but me saw it.
And finally why is it that when they are doing naughty things- we can't help but laugh. As Braden is running across the floor, I yell in desperation "noooo" and he puts both hands up to his mouth and starts giggling like he is so funniest person around. So I of course have to laugh- and suddenly he is off the hook! He is quick to hit- and as soon as I say Braden no- his new quick fix to skip timeout is "sorry mommy" while kissing where/what ever he hit. he even did this to a lizzard that he kind of squashed the other day! Could he be any cuter!

Fourth of July
We had a great fourth of July. We kicked off the day with a bike parade in our church parking lot. Braden rode his new scooter and had a blast. Camiron got a little tuckered out..... she slept through most of it! We all took a great family nap (a must around our household). And then went off to a fair on the Army base. Braden thought it was the best day ever. I think the two overused terms of the day from Braden were: "another one" and "more" referrring to all rides, junk food, and other delights from the day!

New House.... or not
We had the grand idea to have 2 of Troys young men paint our house.... the 3 day project turned into 7 and was a disaster. The boys hated it- Home depot couldn't get the house paint right and gave us 17 gallons of kelly green paint. Turns out if you keep adding layers, it doesn't always get darker. So after much headache, we had our paint replaced with appologies, the boys finished up and now we get the clean up and trim. Braden thinks painting is the funnest thing ever now.
